Roy W. Johnson Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established by his loving wife Lyne Chamberlain, a nursing professor at Seminole State, this scholarship honors the life of Roy Johnson, a veteran of the Vietnam War. Devoted to his wife and her profession, Roy served in the nursing department’s laboratory simulations program to help train student nurses. Many knew him as the patient having the heart attack, the psychiatrist, or the obstetrician delivering a baby. In all of his roles, he loved working with the students and nursing faculty. In the two weeks prior to his passing, Roy was actively recruiting “his nurses” for the RN-to-BSN program. Roy leaves a legacy of a joy for life and helping others achieve their goals. This scholarship will provide financial assistance to students enrolled in Nursing (R.N.) or (RN-to-BSN). Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and attend either full-time or part-time. Preference will be given military veterans or to students who provide a demonstrated record of community service.
