Dixie J. Slater Scholarship

This scholarship honors the legacy of Dixie J. Slater, a long-time educator, by providing up to $5,000 in financial assistance toward tuition and book expenses at Seminole State College. Four candidates will be selected. Eligible students must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in either Elementary Education or Exceptional Education; possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per term, be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, have a current FAFSA on file and meet EFC requirements. Scholarships may be renewed for a second year as long as the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. If the recipient’s GPA fall below 3.0, the student will be placed on probation for one semester to allow an opportunity to raise their GPA. Students will not be reconsidered for renewal if the GPA remains under 3.0.
